STRUNG OUT + DEATH BY STEREO + 2FAST4U | LA SOURCE DE LA MARTINIÈRE | 06.07.2025

La Source a accueilli la tournée de STRUNG OUT à Québec alors que le FEQ termine son premier week-end. Un rassemblement de punks pour célébrer le 35e anniversaire du groupe et jouer Exile In Oblivion, l’une de leurs sorties les plus importantes. Ils sont soutenus par un autre groupe de longue date, DEATH BY STEREO, et les Mauriciens de 2FAST4U.

Venant de Trois-Rivières, ces ex-adolescents ont joué passionnément devant le public déjà dense. Ils existent depuis quelques décennies maintenant et continuent de faire de nouveaux fans à chaque spectacle. Les compositions choisies reflétaient bien leur skate punk mélodique, et c’était agréable d’entendre des talents locaux aux côtés de légendes internationales.

DEATH BY STEREO
Ensuite, ce fut le temps pour la légende du hardcore californien de prendre la scène. Bien que le guitariste régulier Dan Palmer soit en tournée en Europe avec ZEBRAHEAD, rien ne semblait anormal sur scène. Encore une fois (troisième arrêt en deux ans), ils ont offert de bonnes « vibes » et une grande énergie à la foule qui criait et bougeait. Cette réunion entre le groupe et le public a été une bonne, à en juger par les sourires des musiciens. La température a augmenté assez rapidement mais cela ne semblait pas déranger l’ambiance dans la place.

Enfin, la tête d’affiche de la soirée a pris la scène devant une salle comble. Ils ont joué Exile In Oblivion dans l’ordre de l’album et ont terminé avec d’autres succès. L’endroit semblait revigoré et la foule a chanté fort et fièrement. Le chanteur Jason Cruz a interagi avec les gens plusieurs fois, y compris en faisant deviner la chanson qui suivrait. Ce cadre plutôt intime semblait beaucoup plus grand dans cette ambiance festive.

La Source hosted the STRUNG OUT Quebec City tour stop as the FEQ is wrapping up its first weekend. Punks gathered to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the band and the album Exile In Oblivion, one of their most significant releases. They were supported by another long-time band DEATH BY STEREO and locals 2FAST4U.

2FAST4U
Coming from Trois-Rivières, these former teenagers played passionately in front of the already dense audience. They have been around for a few decades now and still making new fans at every show. Their setlist was a good sample of their melodic skate punk, and it was nive to listen to local talent alongside international legends.  

DEATH BY STEREO
Then it was time for the hardcore California legends to take the stage. While regular guitarist Dan Palmer is touring Europe with ZEBRAHEAD, nothing seems unnatural on stage. Once again (third stop in two years) they delivered great vibes and high energy to the screaming and moshing crowd. This reunion between the band and the audience was a good one, judging by the smiles of the musicians. The temperature raised fairly quickly but that did not seem to bother the mood in the room.

At last, the night’s headliner took the stage in front of the sold-out venue. The band played Exile In Oblivion in sequence and finished with other hits. The place felt reenergized and the crowd sang out loud and proud. Lead singer Jason Cruz interacted with the crowd a few times, with making people guess the song to follow. This rather intimate setting felt much bigger because of the festive ambiance.
