LE CLAN DE LA SAVATE + GOSIER | GRIZZLY FUZZ (Québec) | 01.11.2025

J’ai pu célébrer l’Halloween!! J’ai eu la chance d’être invitée, pour CHICKS ROCK MEDIA, à assister au party du CLAN DE LA SAVATE le 1^er novembre, au GRIZZLY FUZZ. Une autre soirée pendant laquelle je ne savais pas à quoi m’attendre ! Un spectacle pour tous (même avec du pole dancing à l’entrée) très spécial, immersif, où on pouvait se déguiser (mais peu l’ont fait) et où les musiciens étaient déguisés aussi !

Ça a commencé avec GOSIER, de Trois-Rivières, avec le Père Noël au micro et à la guitare, Jésus au clavier, un cowboy à la batterie et un autre habillé à l’hawaïenne à la basse (oui oui).

Un groupe de « touskirock » franco sérieux et pas sérieux, dans le genre prog québécois des années 70 irrévérencieux s’inspirant de PLUME, qui nous ont servi des titres tirés de leur album éponyme sorti il y a un an et du « live » sorti en 2022. J’ai été très distraite par leur accoutrement, je dois dire, alors les deux titres que j’ai retenus sont « Déficit d’attention » (ironiquement) et « Psychose », une chanson d’amour apparemment, hahaha…

Ensuite, ce sont les six membres du CLAN DE LA SAVATE, dans un décor rétro avec lampes, miroir, tapis et cercueil qui ont fait leur apparition. Ils font face à l’écran en fond de scène, et sont présentés l’un après l’autre un peu comme à la fin d’une pièce de théâtre : Dick Falco à la voix, Vinny Vengeance à la batterie, Charbon à la basse, Dynamite Kid et Mauvais Chien aux guitares, et Couteau au clavier et à l’harmonica.

Ceux qui savent, savent que le groupe a été propulsé au devant de la scène avec son succès « Électrique », qui a rapidement été suivi d’autres extraits et vidéos comme « Samouraï » et « Mandy Monaco » et « L’armée des voyous », justement le thème de la soirée. Narrations, éclairages éclatés, projections et flammèches ajoutent à cette prestation montée comme un opéra rock. À l’occasion de cette représentation unique, le personnage de Cauchemar est sorti du cercueil pour une apparition malvenue, car il siphonne l’esprit de la place, et les spectateurs sont alors mis à contribution pour le faire disparaître ou à tout le moins contrer sa mauvaise énergie.

On était captivés par l’histoire, et les jeunes présents participent avec enthousiasme. J’adore l’énergie des musiciens, ils bougent bien, nous regardent, nous parlent – on doit répondre, la musique est très entraînante, tout en français. D’ailleurs, la reprise de Nirvana est aussi en français – bonne idée ! Outre cette reprise, LE CLAN DE LA SAVATE a joué tout son album L’armée des voyous en entier, en plus de cinq nouveautés ! 

J’aurai encore passé une fichue de belle soirée, merci pour l’invitation ! Étrangement, mais c’est dans l’air du temps pour moi, ce show m’a un peu réconciliée avec une certaine période de mon adolescence… Si vous voulez que je vous raconte, écrivez-moi ;o)

I got to celebrate Halloween!! I was lucky enough to be invited, on behalf of Chicks Rock Media, to attend the CLAN DE LA SAVATE party on November 1^st at the Grizzly Fuzz. Another evening where I had no idea what to expect! It was a very special, immersive show for everyone (even with pole dancing at the entrance), where you could dress up (but few did) and where the musicians were dressed up too! It started with GOSIER, from Trois-Rivières, with Santa Claus on vocals and guitar, Jesus on keyboards, a cowboy on drums, and another dressed in Hawaiian attire on bass (yes, really). A serious and not-so-serious “catch-all rock” band, in the irreverent Quebec prog style of the 70s and inspired by Plume, they played songs from their eponymous album released a year ago and from the “live” album released in 2022. I must say I was very distracted by their outfits, so the two songs I remember are “Déficit d’attention” (ironically) and “Psychose,” apparently a love song, hahaha…

Next, the six members of LE CLAN DE LA SAVATE appeared in a retro setting with lamps, mirrors, rugs, and a coffin. Facing the screen at the back of the stage, they were introduced one by one, much like at the end of a play: Dick Falco on vocals, Vinny Vengeance on drums, Charbon on bass, Dynamite Kid and Mauvais Chien on guitars, and Couteau on keyboards and harmonica. Those in the know are aware that the band was propelled to the forefront of the music scene with their hit “Électrique,” which was quickly followed by other singles and videos such as “Samouraï,” “Mandy Monaco,” and “L’armée des voyous,” which is precisely this evening’s theme. Storytelling, dazzling lighting, clips, and sparks add to this immersive performance, staged like a rock opera. For this unique performance, a character called Cauchemar emerged from the coffin as an uninvited guest, siphoning the spirit from the venue, and the audience was called upon to make him disappear, or at least counter his negative energy. We were captivated by the story, and the young people in the audience were very enthusiastic. I loved the energy of the musicians; moving all around, looking at us, talking to us – we had to respond. The music was very catchy, all in French. In fact, the Nirvana cover was also in French – great idea! In addition to this cover, LE CLAN DE LA SAVATE played their entire album L’armée des voyous, plus five new songs! 

I had another wonderful evening, thank you for the invitation! Strangely enough, but it’s in the air for me right now, this show reconciled me with some of my teenage years… So if you want me to tell you about it, write me ;o)
