AGORA DU VIEUX-PORT DE QUEBEC | A DAY TO REMEMBER + THE GHOST INSIDE + BEARTOOTH + BAD OMENS| 31.07.2022

BAD OMENS

THE GHOST INSIDE

THE GHOST INSIDE

A DAY TO REMEMBER

A DAY TO REMEMBER

I know that I am privileged for being part of such a wonderful evening.  Starting with the excitement felt by the fans in the long lineup more than an hour before the opening of the gate, and also because this is the only provincial stop during this “Just Some Shows Tour” with A DAY TO REMEMBER

BAD OMENS
First up, this Virginia band came on stage like a shadow while the sun was still burning above the open venue. Somehow, this came as a beautiful contrast when all members dressed in black and wearing serious faces were received with a warmed up audience ready to sing along. The connection was instantaneous. And of course, this opening act way too short.

My favorite therapists never disappoint. The energy that Caleb Shomo and his acolytes gave off, it was off the chart. Even though the human body can take so much, I felt like the singing was a bit down, but it did not take away from anything else. As Caleb spoke to the crowd, I could perceive a lot of gratitude in his voice about the support from the crowd that evening. For me, there is nothing more punk and metal than this community that give to each side of the art. They left us with an unexpected performance of “The Last Riff”, one of the heavier and instrumental tracks from the latest album Below, when all hell broke loose in the pit and on stage.

THE GHOST INSIDE
As the sun was setting down, THE GHOST INSIDE started with a warm welcome they did not expect. Regardless of how heavy their sound is, you could clearly see these metalcore artists couldn’t hide the smiles on their faces. As the crowd got bigger, so did the pit. And they finished with “Aftermath” where, again, enthusiastic fans let their voices be heard. It was great reunion.

A DAY TO REMEMBER
The headliners couldn’t have asked for a better setting: thousands of fans, perfect weather, beautiful scenery, festive attitude! As the level of excitement was at the top, the theatrics were fun and reminiscent of the last show in Québec, during FEQ 2019: toilet paper rolls, confettis, beach balls. Everything was planned in order to have a good time. The night brought darkness but Jeremy McKinnon and his acolytes kept the sun alive with all their might!

A DAY TO REMEMBER

In the end, I could only see happy faces (including mine), letting in a glimpse of what will be a tough Monday morning…
