SCORPIONS + THUNDERMOTHER | CENTRE VIDÉOTRON | 24.08.2022
En ce mercredi gris et pluvieux c’est avec hâte que nous nous sommes rendues au Centre Vidéotron pour assister au show du légendaire groupe rock SCORPIONS qui s’amène dans la capitale, et, pour vous faire un compte rendu. Déjà sur l’autoroute nous constatons l’achalandage automobile causé par l’événement! Ça promet.
THUNDERMOTHER
C’est avec confiance et énergie que les rockeuses suédoises s’amènent sur la scène pile à l’heure.
Vêtues de cuir et de talons hauts (personnellement je serais probablement tombée de la scène avec de telles chaussures), elles prennent d’assaut la place avec leur hard rock bien solide et une attitude bad ass.
En ce début de soirée la salle est à moitié comble. J’adore leur prestation, franchement elles sont la preuve que les filles ont le rock dans le sang et qu’elles peuvent y prendre pleinement leur place!
Visiblement heureuses d’être là, elles livrent une prestation de feu, d’une durée d’environ 40 minutes. Remerciant la foule et SCORPIONS par la même occasion pour cette belle occasion et soirée, elles quittent la scène sous les applaudissements de la foule qui est maintenant bien réchauffée pour la suite.
SCORPIONS
Le centre se remplit jusqu’à pleine capacité pour la venue des légendaires SCORPIONS. C’est sur les notes de « Gas in the Tank » que le groupe entame son spectacle.
Les gens chantent à tue-tête! Que d’émotions! Des personnes de tous âges sont venues voir ceux qui ont bercé l’enfance, l’adolescence et la vie d’adulte de plusieurs générations. Malgré le parterre assis et les estrades, tout le monde est debout, dansant et chantant tous en chœur les succès du groupe.
Monsieur Klaus Meine, chanteur de la formation, nous explique que la chanson « Peacemaker » a été écrite au sujet de la période tourmentée de la pandémie de covid 19. Ils ont aussi surpris plusieurs personnes en changeant les paroles du grand classique « Wind of Change » pour parler de la guerre qui se déroule présentement en Ukraine. Ils ont réussi à me tirer quelques larmes avec cette chanson et « Send me an Angel ». Même si deux des musiciens présents sur scène ne sont pas des membres d’origine, à savoir le Suédois Mikkey Dee à la batterie et le Polonais Pawel Maciwoda à la basse la synergie est là malgré tout.
Une prestation d’environ 1h30 que tous ceux présents ne seront pas près d’oublier! Ils ont terminé avec pour rappel « Still Loving You » et Rock You Like a Hurricane » (connue des plus jeunes et moins jeunes dans le jeu Guitar Hero). Je leur lève mon chapeau, malgré leur âge, les gars ont tout donné! C’est émus, les yeux dans l’eau, sous les cris d’une foule visiblement comblée, que les membres de SCORPIONS ont quitté la scène. Nous les remercions pour cette soirée mémorable et leurs souhaitons encore beaucoup de moments magiques sur scène comme ceux qu’ils ont partagés avec nous ce soir.

On this grey and rainy Wednesday, we were eager to go to the Centre Vidéotron to attend the show of the legendary rock band SCORPIONS, which is coming to the capital, and to give you a report. Already on the highway we can see the traffic caused by the event! It promises to be great.
THUNDERMOTHER
It is with confidence and energy that the Swedish female rockers take the stage right on time. Dressed in leather and high heels (personally I would have probably fallen off the stage with such shoes), they storm the place with their solid hard rock and a bad ass attitude. At the beginning of the evening the room is half full. I love their performance, frankly they are the proof that girls have rock in their blood and that they can fully take their place! Obviously happy to be there, they deliver a fiery performance, lasting about 40 minutes. Thanking the crowd and SCORPIONS at the same time for this beautiful occasion and evening, they leave the stage under the applause of the crowd which is now well warmed up for the continuation.
SCORPIONS
The center fills to capacity for the arrival of the legendary SCORPIONS. It is on the notes of « Gas in the Tank » that the band starts its show. The people sing at the top of their lungs! What emotions! People of all ages came to see those who rocked the childhood, the adolescence and the adult life of several generations. Despite the seated audience and the stands, everyone was on their feet, dancing and singing along to the band’s hits. Klaus Meine, the band’s lead singer, explained that the song « Peacemaker » was written about the troubled times of the Covid 19 pandemic, and they surprised many people by changing the lyrics of the classic « Wind of Change » to talk about the current war in Ukraine. Even if two of the musicians on stage are not original members, namely Mikkey Dee from Sweden on drums and Pawel Maciwoda from Poland on bass, the synergy is still there. A performance of about 1h30 that all those present will not forget! They ended with « Still Loving You » and « Rock You Like a Hurricane » (known to the young and not so young in the game Guitar Hero). I take my hat off to them, despite their age, the guys gave it their all! It is moved, the eyes in tears, under the cries of a crowd visibly filled, that the members of SCORPIONS left the stage. We thank them for this memorable evening and wish them many more magical moments on stage like those they shared with us tonight.
